The Alaskan Story is a ninety-foot Westport Motor/Yacht, which was completely rebuilt from 2003-2006 to make her uniquely suitable for exploring Alaska. She has an enclosed raised pilothouse where while watching the captain navigating the waters you get a spectacular view of everything. She was designed with multiple “common areas” where you can sightsee, read, listening to music, view videos, or just relax. The guest staterooms are below deck and each has a bathroom with shower ensuite. All of the staterooms have hanging lockers and ample storage. Two staterooms have walk-a-round Queens and two have two twin beds.

The Alaskan Story has a large covered aft deck that will comfortably seat 10 people. The covered side walkways lead to a large forward decks with substantial additional seating. She is powered by Caterpillar Diesels, which allow her to cruise effortlessly at 10 – 12 knots and considerably more if necessary. Her broad beam makes her a very comfortable yacht. The Story has a 17-foot Boston Whaler and a 14-foot inflatable, with new 4 stroke outboards. The Whaler is equipped with downriggers and fish-finder. For those who prefer to do their fishing from the mother ship we can troll with downriggers from the protected aft deck.

The Alaskan Story is a 90-foot Westport. She got an all-new teak interior in 2006 and most of the machinery was replaced or rebuilt. She was designed by us relying on our 20 years experience chartering in Alaska to make this vessel just for you and “better than new.” She has two new generators producing 110 and 220v AC and a water-maker, which makes up to 1200 gallons of water a day.

In 2005 Alaska Yacht Charters after 15 years of effort was awarded a high season permit to explore Glacier Bay. The Alaskan Story is one of only a select few yachts over 65 feet allowed to charter during the high season from June through August within the waters of this crown jewel of the our national park system. The National Park Service made its selections based on the financial strength, experience, and environmental sensitivity of the competing charter companies, which were all considered by the National Park Service in making this selection.
